Gridworks is at the Mission 300 Private Sector Consultation Event that takes place in London on Wednesday 4 June.
This week’s event is an important opportunity to bring together African governments and those private sector partners and investors who are vital to making the M300 promise – ‘connecting 300m Africans to electricity by 2030’ – a reality.
Led by the World Bank Group and the African Development Bank, Mission 300 brings together African governments, the private sector, and development partners to deliver affordable power, expand electricity access, boost utility efficiency, attract private investment and improve regional energy integration.
Gridworks is already investing in a number of projects that are recognised as important priorities in national compacts presented at the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit in January this year. These include Moyi Power in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Weza Power in Burundi.
In the sidelines of this week’s M300 event, we’re meeting representatives of the governments of DRC and Burundi (pictured here with Burundi Energy Minister Hon. Ibrahim Uwizeye) to update them on progress and the important role our projects play in their countries’ energy future. We’re also meeting project partners, leaders and policy makers from Mozambique to update them on the latest developments in the Chimuara-Nacala project, a 450km transmission line connecting central and northern regions of Mozambique.
