We’re delighted to welcome Bruno Batista to the Gridworks team to lead our power transmission project in Mozambique.
Based in Maputo, Bruno is the Project Director for the Chimuara-Nacala project, which we’re developing with the national electricity utility, Electricidade de Moçambique. The project aims to strengthen and increase the reliability of the transmission infrastructure connecting central and northern regions of the country (between Chimuara, in Sofala province and Nampula and Nacala in Nampula province).
Bruno was previously the Project Coordinator for the Temane Transmission Project – a c.550 km transmission line project in Mozambique financed by several international donors and investors. He is an electrical engineer by training and has more than 20 years’ experience in infrastructure, including 15 years in Mozambique.
Amol Pinge, Business Development Director at Gridworks, said: “We’re excited to have Bruno as part of the project team. He has strong experience as the Project Coordinator of a similar large-scale transmission project in Mozambique, so is perfectly placed to lead this important project.”
Bruno Batista said: “This project is key to supporting economic growth and the clean energy transition in Mozambique. I’m proud to be leading it and I look forward to getting started.”
